Role-Specific Responsibilities

Shipper Responsibilities

Shippers are responsible for initiating freight requests and ensuring timely payment. They can:

  • Post shipment requests with required details.
  • Accept transport quotations from forwarders or carriers.
  • Monitor the shipment's status in real-time.
  • Review and process invoices for completed deliveries.

Forwarder Responsibilities

Forwarders act as intermediaries between shippers and carriers. They can:

  • Receive and manage freight requests from shippers.
  • Negotiate and submit transport quotations.
  • Assign accepted shipments to verified carriers.
  • Oversee shipment tracking and delivery confirmation.

Carrier Responsibilities

Carriers are responsible for physically transporting the goods. They can:

  • Accept shipment requests from forwarders.
  • Submit proof of delivery (POD) after completing a shipment.
  • Track their payment and invoicing status.
  • Maintain compliance with TrustedTrucks' transport regulations.

Upgrading User Permissions

Depending on business needs, users can request role changes or additional permissions. To upgrade your role:

  1. Go to "Account Settings" in your dashboard.
  2. Select "User Role & Permissions" and review your current access.
  3. Submit a role upgrade request with necessary business verification documents.
  4. Wait for approval (usually processed within 24-48 hours).

🚨 Important: A user can hold both Forwarder and Carrier roles but cannot be a Shipper and Carrier at the same time. This prevents conflicts of interest in contract management.
